Interaction is so important to support the delgates learning process on technical products. It encourages investigation which helps them gain a greater understanding. Coupled with that is the confidence it builds not only to discuss and explain how the product works with the customer but to demonstrate it to them as well. Love the point you made about jargon too. Its amazing how often it is used with little understanding!
